Trip to Cimarron

Shae_on_sledLast weekend we visited Amy's sister, Scarlett, at the YWAM base in Cimmarron, Colorado.  It was great catching up with Scarlett. She's about to head of to Pakistan for a couple of months with her team.

The kids made a couple of new friends and I got to go snowmobiling for an afternoon (sorry I forgot the camera for that little excursion).  It was my second time snowmobiling and I had a blast. If you ever get the chance to try it, do it!!!  Thanks Kent for taking me out.

It snowed while we were there and we ended up having to stay an extra day because we weren't going to be able to get over Monarch Pass to get home.  It was rough, we had to spend an extra day with some great new friends on the side of a mountain.

Visitors from Switzerland

Here are our new friends Dave & Trix Schlaginhaufen ($10 for pronouncing it correctly the first time) in front of our local McDonald's. We had a great time with them last night visiting The Clay Pit and Uchi for dinner (yes, we had 2 dinners). Amy and Dave ate whole crabs (sorry, no pics), the rest of us just ate raw fish.

Dave & Trix are simple church planters in Switzerland and are touring the US visiting folks involved in Simple Church.

You Can't Be Anything You Want to Be

You Can't Be Anything You Want To Be, even the title of the book hit me. I thought this was America, where you could do anything and be anything you wanted. Then I remembered Jeremiah 10:23:

I know, LORD, that a person's life is not his own. No one is able to plan his own course.

I was privileged to be able to spend 4 days in Colorado with an incredible group of men to discuss this book. You can read about our time at my buddy Charlie's site by clicking here.

We had 4 feet of powder and I tried to sled on a snow shovel. Well, you get the picture.

A Day with Daddy

That's Anna in front of Katz's Deli in Houston yesterday. She rode with me down to Houston to meet with the folks at Katz's Deli (who were very friendly). Along the way we stopped at Bass Pro Shop's Outdoor World and Jerry Mikeska's BBQ. Click on the picture above to view other pics from the road (there's a few really good ones of bass about to eat her).

Wild At Heart Boot Camp - Registration Opens Today

wah_header.gif

Last year I attended the Wild At Heart Boot Camp put on by the Ransomed Heart Team at Frontier Ranch in the mountains of Colorado. It was the best weekend of my entire life. I met with God and it completely changed the direction of my life. I'm going again, and would love it if you would too.

They have so many people trying to go that they do a free lottery and choose people to invite. Pray about entering the lottery (IT'S FREE) and then if God wants you to go it'll be easy for him to make sure you're selected.

AGAIN, if you're only going to go to one conference in your life, THIS IS IT!

I've created a new photo album with pics from this weekends trip to Long Beach. Had an incredible time. Take a look at the pictures by clicking here.

Off to Sunny California

Well, I'm off to Long Beach to hang out with Neil Cole at 5 a.m. tomorrow. Why am I going? I don't have a clue, but there are some people you just don't say "NO" to.

Check out the weather in Long Beach
