Finally, a business card

JondalepiccardforwebAfter years of resisting the urge to carry a business card, I finally decided to design one.  I like this one because it has a nice white space next to my head that allows me to turn myself into a cartoon character with a little bubble next to my head saying what I want to say. Its pretty cheesy, but people seem to love it.

Business & Wild at Heart

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in several days. I've been very busy with work and blogging has had to take a back seat to other things.

Our advertising business is really picking up (amazing what a little hard work will do). I've had a great week this week.

Last weekend I was in Houston at a business function with a friend of mine named Steve. It was great to see him. He runs a business similar to mine in the Sacremento area. Its good to renew old friendships.

Amy and I are leading Wild at Heart Groups at the moment. We're doing week 3 (of 8) this weekend. I've got about 7 guys doing it and Amy has about 5 women. I'm excited about the potential for this as a church planting tool. The final week of the study talks about the Band of Brothers concept and basically says that life needs to be lived in community. I think this could be a great launch pad for starting a new church.

I've been spending a lot of time in the hammock with the kids lately. I highly recommend you dads do this!

Well, that's all from me for now. I'll probably upload some pics and stuff this weekend.

A Day with Daddy

That's Anna in front of Katz's Deli in Houston yesterday. She rode with me down to Houston to meet with the folks at Katz's Deli (who were very friendly). Along the way we stopped at Bass Pro Shop's Outdoor World and Jerry Mikeska's BBQ. Click on the picture above to view other pics from the road (there's a few really good ones of bass about to eat her).

One of the many joys of being your own boss

Anna came with me for an early round of golf this morning (7 a.m.). Lots of fun. She even drove the cart (don't tell the golf club). Only nine holes, and I was 10 over par. OUCH!!!! I'm off to Houston this afternoon to meet with Katz's Deli about doing their menus.

The First Year

So, 9 months of business and the profit and loss shows just over 100 grand in revenue. Not bad for year 1.

The real question is "where did it all go?" (Just Kidding, we know exactly thanks to Quickbooks)
